Retro Style

The essence of retro style is nostalgic cheerfulness. An inspiring environment for all those, who love busy, cheerful spaces and adore the fathers of design. 😊 Within this retro category retro-modern is a contemporary look that draws nostalgic elements from the 60s, 70s and 80s in Hungary. Seemingly there are some flicks, easiness against the current world, some exaggerated expressionism, but it is still optimistic. Although many would question the quality of its use of materials, these were indeed durable furniture with new materials. (plywood, vinyl, molded plastic..etc) Indeed!
This is a very bold style, true to the revolutionary approach that took place from the 1920s, both in architecture and design. The roots of the minimalist approach and experimentation with new materials have appeared.
Ergonomics (=the importance of comfortable / healthy use of furnitures) appeared in the design in addition to functionality. Furthermore, they aimed to make all these available for masses. Amazing... That is why I love it.
